A collection of typescript translations of articles appearing in Russian newpapers (principally "Izvestiia,""Pravda," and "Komsomol'skaia pravda") and from other news sources concerning the situation of religious bodies in the Soviet Union and Russian emigration in the 1920s. Also includes a folder of reports and circular letters from Russian religious bodies (one with a cover letter from E. T. Colton to George Stewart, 1927 Jun 11 and one titled "to the Government of the USSR from the Orthodox Bishops Exiled to the Slovetzk Islands"); a note on the history of the Russian church; a typescript of "Extracts from letters of Dr. Roman Morozovich";a letter from J. X. Simpson to George Stewart, 1926 Apr 26; and three essays by Stewart: "The Church of Christ in Russia," "Russia," and "Ten Truths About Russia."
